D.Gray-man to Skip Next Issue Due to Creator Katsura Hoshino’s Health, Return Planned for October

The D.Gray-man manga will not appear in Jump SQ.RISE 2026 SUMMER, which goes on sale July 30, due to creator Katsura Hoshino’s poor health. The Jump SQ. editorial department announced the news on its official X account.

The series is currently expected to return in the next issue, Jump SQ.RISE 2026 AUTUMN, scheduled for release in late October.

The official statement reads:
“D.Gray-man, which was scheduled to appear in Jump SQ.RISE 2026 SUMMER, on sale Thursday, July 30, will not be published due to Katsura Hoshino’s poor health. We sincerely apologize to all readers who were looking forward to it. The series is currently scheduled to appear in the next issue, Jump SQ.RISE 2026 AUTUMN, which is due for release in late October. Thank you for your understanding.”

D.Gray-man is a story about Exorcists and AKUMA that begins in a fictional version of 19th century Europe. Protagonist Allen Walker wields the Innocence embedded in his left arm as a weapon. Together with his companions, he throws himself into battle, destroying AKUMA and confronting the Millennium Earl.

The manga began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2004. It later moved to Jump SQ. and then Jump SQ.RISE. The series was also adapted into television anime in 2006 and 2016.
