Pokémon Center Shibuya's Iconic Life Size Mewtwo Suddenly Disappears, Leaving Fans Wondering, "Has It Escaped?"

The life size Mewtwo display, one of the most recognizable attractions at Pokémon Center Shibuya, has suddenly disappeared, sparking widespread speculation among Pokémon fans online.

Since the store opened in 2019, Pokémon Center Shibuya has welcomed visitors with an impressive life size Mewtwo at its entrance. The display features advanced animatronics that bring Mewtwo to life through realistic movement, combined with LED background visuals, lighting effects, and audio to create an immersive experience.

The installation has become a popular landmark in Shibuya, attracting Pokémon fans and tourists from around the world. However, visitors recently discovered that Mewtwo had suddenly vanished.

Even the official Pokémon Information Bureau X account reacted with surprise, posting, "Wait... I went to Pokémon Center Shibuya, and Mewtwo is gone. Why?"

Fans quickly flooded social media with playful theories, including, "Did Shibuya's Mewtwo escape? Is this Mewtwo Strikes Back all over again?" Another visitor wrote, "I went to Shibuya today, and it really wasn't there. A staff member told me, 'It looks like Mewtwo teleported out to see the city. Adding to the mystery, Mewtwo has also disappeared from the Pokémon GO PokéStop at the location. The official account commented, "Wait... Mewtwo is gone from the PokéStop too."
