The story and preview images for Episode 2 of the TV anime Chainsmoker Cat (JP: ヤニねこ, Yanineko) have been revealed. This episode will air on Friday, July 3 at 12:30 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 1 Story

Yanineko dearly loves cigarettes, alcohol, and laziness. As a major chain smoker, she spends her days picking up cigarette butts, experiencing withdrawal symptoms during her part-time job, and reaching for smoke with her meager money.

The landlord is already at their bursting point with this cat-eared resident who melts away money on cigarettes without even paying rent.

One day, she receives a message out of nowhere from her reliable younger sister, Imoko, saying, "Send me a photo of your room." Yanineko's greatest crisis begins now.

Introduction

In a world where humans and beastfolk coexist, lives Yanineko (Chainsmoker Cat)—a beastfolk cat who spends her days smoking and lazing around.

No money! No survival skills! A total good-for-nothing! She has thrown away her manners and morals right along with her cigarette butts. She is reeking of smoke, dirty, lazy, and a complete piece of trash. Inhaling, exhaling, gossiping, and burning out—and yet, she manages to live a reasonably fulfilling life in her own way. It gets pretty gross, but somehow, it leaves you feeling just a tiny bit encouraged!
