The Fake Alchemist Anime Announced, Teaser PV and Visual Revealed as Passione Takes on the Adaptation

The Fake Alchemist has officially been announced for a TV anime adaptation. Alongside the announcement, a teaser visual and commemorative promotional video were released. The animation will be produced by Passione, the studio known for its work on numerous fantasy anime series.

Originally gaining legendary attention as an indie work, The Fake Alchemist, written by Jiro Sugiura and illustrated by Umemaru, has since surpassed 1 million copies in circulation with its commercial edition.

The newly released PV showcases the creative process behind the adaptation. Starting with original rough sketches by creator Jiro Sugiura, the video follows the transition to the manga adaptation illustrated by Umemaru, before passing the baton to Passione for the anime production. The visual development of the character Nora is featured throughout the video.

Story

Set in the city state of Orichalconia, a world where alchemy and magic are deeply woven into everyday life, the reincarnated Paracelsus quietly makes a living as an alchemist while concealing his powerful “cheat skill.”

However, his life changes dramatically after forming a contract with Nora, a slave and practitioner of curse magic, and meeting Coco, an elf who has been stripped of her limbs and all sensory abilities.

Determined to save Coco, Paracelsus begins a small rescue effort in his workshop. What starts as a modest undertaking gradually escalates into a conflict involving alchemy, cursecraft, the cosmos, and even gods themselves.
