Kagurabachi Reveals Chihiro Rokuhira Visual and PV: “Scum Like You...” Accompanied by Black Goldfish Ahead of April 2027 Anime Premiere

The TV anime Kagurabachi, scheduled to air in April 2027, has unveiled a new character visual and character PV for its protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira. Taihi Kimura, who won the New Actor Award at the 20th Seiyu Awards for the 2025 fiscal year, will voice Chihiro. Tetsuya Takeuchi serves as director, Keigo Sasaki handles character design, and Cypic is in charge of animation production.

Chihiro Rokuhira is a quiet boy who sets out on a journey to avenge his father, who was driven to his death by Hishaku, and to recover the six stolen Enchanted Blades. With the seventh Enchanted Blade left behind by his father in hand, he walks a path of bloodshed.

In the newly released character PV, Chihiro appears with a piercing gaze that seems to strike through the viewer. His line, “I can’t let scum like you wield a sword,” carries an unwavering conviction and the resolve to shoulder everything. Wearing a jet black cloak and accompanied by black goldfish, his presence is quiet yet overwhelming, hinting at the beginning of a grand battle.

Kagurabachi is a Japanese sword battle action story centered on Chihiro Rokuhira, a boy who aspires to become a swordsmith and fights to avenge his father. Chihiro had spent his days training under his swordsmith father, living a life filled with laughter. However, everything changes after an attack by the mysterious sorcerer organization Hishaku.

What was stolen from him were six Enchanted Blades with immense power capable of shaping the fate of the nation, along with his gentle and warm everyday life. From that day forward, the boy left behind in a world swirling with darkness takes up Enten, the seventh Enchanted Blade left by his father, and walks a blood stained path of revenge.

Original creator Takeru Hokazono was born in 2000 and is from Osaka Prefecture. Kagurabachi is his first serialized work. After launching in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023, the series drew a major response around the world. On MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA, the multilingual simultaneous manga app and web service, its first chapter ranked No. 1 in global views within one week of serialization for the English version in September 2023. In August 2024, it won first place in the Comics Division of the Next Manga Awards 2024. The manga has surpassed 4 million copies in circulation.
