A special one-shot of the manga FAIRY TAIL (created by Hiro Mashima) will be published in Issue 31 of Weekly Shonen Magazine, set for release on July 3rd. While many spin-offs of FAIRY TAIL have had Mashima handle the storyboards and other manga artists take on the drawing, this special one-shot will be drawn by Mashima himself. It marks the first time in seven years since the end of the series in 2017 that Mashima has drawn FAIRY TAIL.

About FAIRY TAIL

FAIRY TAIL was a popular manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" from 2006 to 2017. It follows the story of the wizard guild "Fairy Tail," known for its unique and colorful wizards. The series inspired three TV anime adaptations (2009, 2014, and 2018), with the final episode airing in 2019.

Currently, the spin-off series "FAIRY TAIL 100 YEARS QUEST" has been serialized in the manga app "Magazine Pocket" since July 2018. This series features storyboards by Hiro Mashima and artwork by Atsuo Ueda. It continues the adventures of "Fairy Tail" from where the original series left off, following the protagonists Natsu, Lucy, and Happy as they take on the legendary 100 Years Quest—a mission that has remained uncompleted for over a century since the founding of the wizard guild. The anime adaptation of this spin-off is set to air on July 7th.

This upcoming special one-shot by Mashima will depict a major incident involving the guild just before Natsu and his friends embark on the 100 Years Quest. It will be published in full color on the cover and will span 30 pages in total.

EDENS ZERO Manga Concludes

Additionally, Mashima's work "EDENS ZERO" reached its conclusion with the release of the final chapter (Chapter 293) in Issue 30 of "Weekly Shonen Magazine," published today, June 26th. This series had been running since June 2018, concluding its six-year journey. Notably, Mashima has managed to maintain a continuous publication schedule without taking a break throughout his 26-year career, even while juggling multiple serializations simultaneously.
