Strikeout Pitch Volume 6 Preview PV “Ino Dies” Stuns Fans with Yu-Gi-Oh Style Parody

The preview PV “Ino Dies” was released on June 5 on the YouTube channel Jump La Channel to mark the release of Volume 6 of the manga Strikeout Pitch. The video evokes the legendary next episode preview “Jonouchi Dies” from the TV anime Yu Gi Oh! Duel Monsters, and it has already sparked a strong reaction online.

Although the characters featured in the video are from Strikeout Pitch, the music, composition, and narration closely recreate the preview style of Yu Gi Oh! Duel Monsters. The preview even ends with the unexpected line, “Duel standby!” Hitomi Ueda provides the narration.

On social media, fans quickly reacted with comments such as “Even the artwork looks like the original,” “They are both Jump titles, but still, this level of recreation is incredible,” “The official team is playing around way too much lol,” “I laughed so hard,” “They actually said duel!” and “Ueda sounds like she is having fun, which makes it even funnier.”

Currently serialized on Shonen Jump Plus, Strikeout Pitch is an unconventional high school baseball manga centered on a pitcher who can throw at full power only three times a day. The story begins in June, when rumors spread among high school baseball players in Kanagawa about a mysterious man known as the Baseball Club Hunter, who appears night after night and challenges players to a three pitch showdown.

The man is said to throw an astonishing fastball and has never lost a match. Kobori, the captain of the baseball team at Kanagawa Prefectural Yokohama Soha High School, suspects that the Baseball Club Hunter is somewhere on campus. Hoping to recruit him in pursuit of the team’s long cherished dream of reaching Koshien, Kobori decides to use himself as bait.

That night, the Baseball Club Hunter appears on the field. However, the man has a certain secret that prevents him from playing baseball.
With only three weeks left before the final tournament of their third year of high school, and with only three full power pitches available, this baseball story begins in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Because its central pitcher carries the unusual limitation of being able to throw at full power only three times a day, Strikeout Pitch has drawn major attention on social media since the start of its serialization as a baseball manga unlike anything readers have seen before.
