Star Detective Precure! Episode 14 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Pochitan’s Identity at Risk After Being Seen by Student Council President Rei Kaneda

The story and preview images for Episode 14 of the new TV anime Star Detective Precure! (JP: 名探偵プリキュア！), the 23rd installment in the long-running Precure franchise, have been revealed. The series is set to begin airing on May 3.

Episode 14 Story

On their way to school, Anna Akechi and Mikuru Kobayashi are stopped by student council president Rei Kaneda, who warns them that only school approved bags are allowed on campus, pointing out that Pochitan, disguised as a pouch, is not permitted. Rei is known for being strict about rules and regulations, and is also the granddaughter of the chairman of Makoto Mirai Academy.

The following day, while Pochitan is staying behind at the Curett Detective Agency with Jett-senpai, a letter regarding Cure Arcana Shadow arrives from the Curett Detective Agency in London. Wanting to deliver the letter to Anna and the others, Pochitan sneaks out on his own when Jett-senpai looks away.

As Pochitan heads toward the school, he is startled by a large dog, loses his way, and eventually arrives at a city library. Inside, Rei is reading picture books aloud to children. Captivated by her voice, Pochitan listens quietly, but when the reading ends, he is seen clapping in front of Rei and accidentally speaks out loud, risking exposing his true identity.

Introduction

Star Detective Precure introduces the first detective themed Precure storyline in the franchise and is set primarily in 1999. The protagonist Anna Akechi is a 14 year old second year middle school student living in Makoto Mirai Town. On her birthday, she encounters a fairy named Pochitan and is guided by a mysterious pendant found in her room, triggering a time slip from the year 2027 back to Makoto Mirai City in 1999.

There, Anna meets another 14 year old girl, Mikuru Kobayashi, who dreams of becoming a great detective. When a series of incidents begin to occur, the two girls find themselves unable to ignore people suffering from stolen treasured possessions. Together, they transform into the Star Detective Precure, solving mysteries with the catchphrase “That mystery will be cured” while protecting smiles through sharp deduction and searching for clues that may allow Anna to return to her original time.
