Haibara's Teenage New Game+ Episode 5 Story & Preview Cuts Released: A Double Date and Rising Tension in the Basketball Club

The story and preview images for Episode 5 of the TV anime Haibara's Teenage New Game+ (JP: 灰原くんの強くて青春ニューゲーム) have been revealed. This episode will air on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 1:28 AM (JST) on Japanese broadcasting stations, and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 5 Story

At Miori's suggestion, Natsuki goes on a double date with Hikari and Reita. On the day of the date, the group enjoys their time together shopping, watching a movie, and sharing a meal. During their outing, Miori runs into some of her seniors from the basketball club, and a tense atmosphere develops between them. The following day, feeling concerned about Miori, Natsuki goes to check on the basketball club's practice. There, he witnesses Miori being isolated from the rest of the team.

Natsuki Haibara is a young man on the verge of entering the workforce. Ever since he failed his "high school debut," he has lived through a gray and dreary adolescence. One day, he suddenly time-leaps from his fourth year of college back to the moment just before his high school entrance ceremony!

Having gained the chance to redo a high school life that was filled with nothing but regret, Natsuki launches his "Rainbow-Colored Youth Plan" to rewrite his gray past into something vibrant! Using his past experiences to his advantage, he manages to join a group of the school's most popular "top-tier" students and gets closer to the beautiful girl he once loved from afar.

However, the rainbow-colored youth he yearned for isn't just fun and games... Can Natsuki truly reclaim the youth of his dreams?!
