Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd. announced on April 24 that the iconic hidden command “↑↑↓↓←→←→BA” will celebrate its 40th anniversary on April 25. To commemorate the milestone, a dedicated special website for the Konami Code was launched.

The Konami Code is widely recognized not only among gamers but also by a broader audience. It was first introduced in the Family Computer version of Gradius, released on April 25, 1986.

Music Releases and Merchandise Projects Begin
As part of the 40th anniversary celebration, music from six retro game titles, including Gradius, totaling 98 tracks, has been made available starting today through download and streaming services.
In addition, commemorative T-shirts featuring designs inspired by the Konami Code “↑↑↓↓←→←→BA” and the 40th anniversary logo of Gradius are now available via Amazon’s on-demand printing service “Merch on Demand.” These designs allow fans to enjoy elements of classic games in their everyday fashion.

Konami Code to Appear in New Game Project
Further expanding the celebration, the Konami Code will be implemented in the currently in-development game PROJECT ZIRCON in its trial version. The 40th anniversary website is available within the official PROJECT ZIRCON website, highlighting ongoing and upcoming initiatives tied to this legendary command.
