To mark the fifth anniversary of the popular manga Dandadan, an official post on X revealed a commemorative illustration by renowned horror manga artist Junji Ito. Alongside the artwork, Ito shared a message saying, “Congratulations on Dandadan’s 5th anniversary!”

The illustration features Momo Ayase and Okarun, depicted with Ito’s distinctive artistic touch, blending unsettling horror elements with the characters’ familiar appearances.
The official account also expressed gratitude, stating, “We received a special celebratory illustration from Junji Ito for Dandadan’s 5th anniversary. Thank you very much!”
What Is Dandadan?

Dandadan is an occult themed battle manga currently serialized on Shonen Jump Plus by Shueisha. The story follows high school girl Momo Ayase, who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Ken Takakura, known as Okarun, an occult enthusiast. Together, they face various supernatural phenomena in a fast paced coming of age story.
The series has gained widespread attention for its unconventional blend of occult themes and battle fantasy elements. Its total circulation has surpassed 12 million copies.
The anime adaptation has also been successful, with Season 1 airing from October to December 2024, Season 2 scheduled from July to September 2025, and Season 3 planned for 2027. In addition, a stage adaptation has been announced, with performances set for Tokyo and Osaka in August and September.
