On the 31st, the editorial department of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine announced the end of the serialization of the comic adaptation "Oshiawase ni Konyakusha-sama. Watashi mo Watashi de Shiawase ni Narimasunode (お幸せに、婚約者様。私も私で、幸せになりますので。)."

According to an official statement released on the magazine’s website addressed to readers, multiple similarities between the artwork of the series and other works were identified. Upon confirming the facts with the illustrator Matsurika, the artist admitted to engaging in imitation that exceeded acceptable reference use.

Distribution Halted Across Platforms

In response to the situation, the editorial department stated that it takes the matter extremely seriously. Distribution of the series has been suspended across platforms including Palcy, Getsumaga Kichi, and Comic DAYS. The serialization itself has also been officially discontinued.

Additionally, the one shot work "Shinitagari no Hashi no Ue (JP: 死にたがりの橋の上)" by the same artist will also be removed from Comic DAYS due to similar circumstances.

Editorial Apology and Future Measures

The editorial team emphasized that it will take this incident seriously and will work to strengthen its review and monitoring systems to prevent such issues from occurring again.

The statement concluded with a formal apology, expressing sincere regret for the inconvenience and concern caused to readers who supported the work, as well as to all related parties.

The series was originally based on a novel by gorogoro mikan, with character drafts by HIROKAZU, and illustrated by Matsurika.
