The story and preview images for Episode 1 of the TV anime Nippon Sangoku (JP: 日本三國) have been revealed. This episode will air on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at 9:00 PM (JST) with the world's fastest streaming available on Prime Video. It will subsequently be available on various other streaming platforms.

Episode 1

In the rural countryside of Ehime District within the Kingdom of Yamato, a young man named Aoteru Misumi lives a modest and peaceful life. Working as a Shinokan (agricultural official), he spends his days dedicated to farming alongside his wife, Saki.

One day, an ostentatious cavalry troop resembling a daimyo's procession appears before them. Stepping out from a particularly luxurious carriage is Denki Taira, the Minister of Internal Affairs and the de facto ruler of the Kingdom of Yamato.

Introduction

In a near-future Japan, civilization has collapsed following a revolution triggered by nuclear war, natural disasters, and political corruption. The nation has been fractured into three territories, plunging the country into a "Three Kingdoms" era of warring states vying for supremacy.

Aoteru Misumi, a humble local official, sets his sights on the "Reunification of Japan." Armed with a wealth of knowledge and masterful oratory skills, he begins his steady ascent through the ranks of power.
