The manga A Certain Scientific Railgun reached its final chapter in the May issue of Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh, released on March 27. Since its serialization began in 2007, the series has built a legacy spanning approximately 19 years.

A Long Running Spin Off Reaches Its Finale


This work is a spin off of the light novel series A Certain Magical Index, focusing on one of its heroines, Mikoto Misaka, as the main protagonist. Set in Academy City, a place where the development of supernatural abilities known as “esper powers” is actively pursued, the story depicts the peaceful yet slightly unusual daily lives of Mikoto and her friends.


Anime Adaptations and Future Developments

The series has also enjoyed multiple anime adaptations. The first season aired from 2009 to 2010, followed by the second season in 2013 and the third season in 2020. Production of a fourth season has already been confirmed, signaling that the franchise will continue beyond the manga’s conclusion.
