The anime Hana-Kimi Season 2 has officially been announced, continuing the story of Mizuki Ashiya as she begins her second year at Ohsaka Academy.

Hana-Kimi Season 2 Brings Back School Life, Romance, and Friendship

It has been revealed that a second season of the TV anime Hana-Kimi is now in production. The story follows Mizuki Ashiya, a girl who transfers to the all boys school Ohsaka Academy while disguising her gender. As she enters her second year, her school life continues to unfold with a mix of romance, friendship, and lively events that color heryouth.

The original manga was serialized in Hana to Yume published by Hakusensha from issue 20 in 1996 to issue 18 in 2004. A total of 23 volumes were released under the Hana to Yume Comics label. Following the success of the 2007 live action drama in Japan, a special edition consisting of 12 volumes was also published. The series has surpassed 17 million copies in circulation, making it a highly popular shojo manga.

The story centers on Mizuki Ashiya, who transfers from the United States to a Japanese boys school in order to meet her admired athlete Izumi Sano. The school life story surrounding her has inspired multiple live action adaptations, including Hana-Kimi Ikemen Paradise broadcast on Fuji TV, as well as versions across Asia. Even 20 years after the manga concluded, the series continues to maintain strong popularity.
