Go For It, Nakamura!! Anime Premieres April 1: Chiaki Kobayashi and Yuki Sakakihara Lead BL Comedy Adaptation

The BL comedy anime Go For It, Nakamura!! is set to premiere on April 1, 2026. Based on the manga by Syundei, the series brings to life the awkward and heartfelt one sided love story of a shy high school boy. Alongside the broadcast announcement, the third promotional video has been released, offering a deeper look into the story of Okuto Nakamura and his crush.

A Classic BL Comedy Brought to Life in Animation

The original manga centers on protagonist Okuto Nakamura, who harbors a secret crush on his classmate Aiki Hirose. Known for its nostalgic art style inspired by the 1980s and 1990s, the series comically portrays Nakamura’s wild imagination and over the top inner turmoil. Its unique blend of retro aesthetics and relatable adolescent emotions has earned widespread popularity.

With the anime adaptation, this quintessential BL comedy will now unfold on screen, bringing Nakamura’s clumsy yet earnest romantic struggles to a broader audience.

Chiaki Kobayashi voices Okuto Nakamura, while Yuki Sakakihara plays Aiki Hirose. The cast also includes Takuya Eguchi as Sou Otogiri, Fairouz Ai as Hifumi Kawamura, Yukihiro Nozuyama as Kota Takeuchi, Atsushi Tamaru as Ryou Mukai, Makoto Koichi as Yuka Hamaoka, Yume Maihara as Masako Okuda, Tsubasa Sasa as Tsukasa Omori, as well as veteran voice actors Kappei Yamaguchi and Junko Takeuchi.

The anime is directed, written, and character designed by Aoi Umeki, with animation production handled by Drive.
