Masataka Kubota Cast as Jinpachi Ego in Blue Lock Live Action Film, Set for August 7 Release in World Cup Year

The live action film adaptation of Blue Lock held a production announcement event on the 7th in Tokyo, where it was officially revealed that actor Masataka Kubota will portray Jinpachi Ego, the mastermind and supreme authority behind the Blue Lock Project. It was also announced that the film will be released in theaters on August 7, during the year of the FIFA World Cup.



Masataka Kubota Takes on the Architect of Blue Lock

Jinpachi Ego serves as the highest ranking supervisor of the Blue Lock Project, the radical program designed to create a striker capable of leading Japan to World Cup victory. As the ideological core of the story, Ego is known for his uncompromising philosophy and provocative methods that drive the players’ egos to the extreme.



Kubota’s casting was unveiled during the film’s official production report event, drawing significant attention as he takes on one of the most influential and enigmatic characters in the Blue Lock universe.



August 7 Release Confirmed

In addition to the casting announcement, the production confirmed that the Blue Lock live action film will premiere on August 7, aligning its theatrical release with the World Cup year and further heightening anticipation for the film’s debut.
