Scum of the Brave Episode 4 Story & Preview Cuts Released: Jogamine Goes on Another Rampage

The story and preview images for Episode 4 of the TV anime Scum of the Brave (JP: 勇者のクズ) have been revealed. This episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, Sunday 1 at 12:55 AM (JST), and will later be available on various international streaming platforms.

Episode 4 Story

At the request of Ishinoo, Yashiro reluctantly agrees to act as Jogamine’s bodyguard. Together, they infiltrate a club in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, with the simple plan of receiving E3 from Matsugi, a so-called “Peeping Broker,” asking him one question, and leaving quietly.

However, things take an unexpected turn when Yashiro and Jogamine encounter men who have been injected with E3 and are attempting to drag two young girls away. Faced with this situation, Jogamine once again loses control, setting off another dangerous chain of events.

Introduction

“Being a hero is a job for the lowest kind of scum.”

In the mid-21st century, Tokyo’s criminal underworld is ruled by mafias who have become “Demon Kings” through ether (magical power) enhancement surgery. The bounty hunters who take down these Demon Kings are known as “heroes.”

Heroes enhance their ether abilities with a drug called E3 in order to stand against the Demon Kings. Killing is legalized for them, turning the role of a hero into a profession that is, quite literally, one of murder.

Amid this, a self-proclaimed “disciple” suddenly shows up at the door of Yashiro, a freelance hero known as the “Grim Reaper.” She is Jōgamine, a high school girl training to become a hero. Though reluctant, Yashiro takes her in, only to find himself dragged into a series of thoroughly rotten incidents.
