CROWS Official Sequel “Dustland” Launches January 13 as Hiroshi Takahashi’s First New Series in 13 Years

The delinquent manga CROWS returns with its long awaited official sequel Dustland, which will begin serialization on January 13, 2026. The new series will debut in Young Champion New Year Issue No.3, published by Akita Shoten, marking Hiroshi Takahashi’s first serialized work in the CROWS universe in approximately 13 years.

Dustland serves as the legitimate continuation of the legendary delinquent manga series CROWS and WORST. Hiroshi Takahashi once again handles both story and artwork, continuing the world he last depicted when WORST concluded in 2013. Alongside the announcement, newly revealed character illustrations have also been released.

The title Dustland evokes the familiar setting of Toaru City, the central stage of the franchise. The newly unveiled logo prominently features the words “CROWS × WORST,” strongly emphasizing that this new work stands as a direct and canonical sequel to the previous series.

Illustrations of two boys living in Toaru City, Hibari and Sanzo, have also been revealed. Their fateful meeting sets the story in motion, with the narrative once again unfolding at Suzuran Boys High School, the same infamous setting that defined both CROWS and WORST.

To commemorate the launch of Dustland, Akita Shoten will host a special campaign on its official web manga platform Champion Cross. From the 23rd to the 26th, all chapters of CROWS, covering all 26 collected volumes, will be available to read completely free of charge.

Originally serialized in Monthly Shonen Champion starting in 1990, CROWS is widely regarded as a cornerstone of delinquent manga. Set at Suzuran Boys High School, nicknamed the Crow School, the story begins when Harumichi Bouya, a man with blond pompadour hair, transfers in, sparking a powerful ensemble drama centered on rivalries, pride, and growth.

The series portrays fierce clashes with formidable opponents such as Housen Academy, the Black Ember Alliance, and the Armament Front, while also depicting moments of mutual respect and personal development among its characters. CROWS ran from 1990 to 1998, followed by its sequel WORST, which serialized from 2001 to 2013.

Including spin off titles, the franchise has surpassed 90 million copies in total circulation. In 2007, CROWS was adapted into a live action film starring Shun Oguri and has since expanded into OVAs, stage productions, and video games, establishing itself as a landmark series across multiple media.
