The anime Dr. STONE has officially announced that Cour 3 of its final chapter, “SCIENCE FUTURE,” will begin airing in April 2026. Alongside this announcement, a teaser promotional video featuring the debut of a new character, SAI, has been released on the official TOHO animation YouTube channel.

Based on the manga written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, Dr. STONE is a science adventure series that first aired as a TV anime in 2019. The series continued with Season 2 in 2021, a television special in 2022, Season 3 titled NEW WORLD in 2023, and in 2024, the announcement of its final chapter as Season 4, SCIENCE FUTURE. The story begins when humanity is suddenly turned to stone by a mysterious phenomenon. Thousands of years later, the science loving prodigy Senku awakens and sets out to rebuild civilization using the power of science. As the narrative progresses, Senku moves closer to a decisive confrontation with Why Man.

In Cour 3, Senku joins forces with Xeno to initiate an ambitious moon landing project, wagering the revival of all humanity on its success. During these preparations, Ryusui names a crucial figure essential to the spacecraft project. That individual is the newly introduced character SAI.

SAI is described as a genius mathematician known as “the strongest mathematical mind in humanity.” The teaser PV showcases SAI’s silhouette from behind as well as his petrified form, offering only a glimpse of his presence.
