The story and stills of Episode 22 from the final season of Dr.STONE (SCIENCE FUTURE) have been unveiled. Episode 22 is set to premiere on Sep 11 (Thursday) at 10:00 PM JST on Japan’s TOKYO MX, followed by global distribution on various platforms.

Episode 22 Story “Until We Meet Again”

In a desperate final clash with Stanley’s squad, Joel completes the petrification device as the Corn City crew executes Senku’s do-or-die frontal assault, unleashing a light that engulfs Earth while Senku leaves one last charge.
Taiju and Ryusui fall, serving as shields in the final battle against Stanley’s unit. In that hopeless moment, Joel at last completes the petrification device. Following Senku’s plan, the Corn City crew launches a life-or-death frontal charge to activate it. A baleful light erupts, and petrification waves begin to swallow the entire Earth. As the struggle with Stanley’s side for the precious revival fluid intensifies, what final trust does Senku pass on as he turns to stone…?

What is Dr.STONE

Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon petrified all of humanity in an instant... A science prodigy, Senku Ishigami, awakens in a stone world devoid of civilization. Using his genius intellect, he embarks on an epic adventure to rebuild the world through the power of science.

The TV anime Dr.STONE is based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2017 to 2022, created by Riichiro Inagaki (story) and Boichi (art). The manga received accolades like 2nd place in the Next Manga Award 2018 (Comics Division) and the Shogakukan Manga Award (Shonen Division), surpassing 18 million copies in circulation.

The anime debuted in July 2019, followed by its second season in 2021, a special in 2022, and the third season, Dr.STONE NEW WORLD, in 2023. The upcoming fourth season, titled Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, will air across three split cours starting in 2025. Its announcement in August 2024 created a massive buzz on social media.
