Chainsaw Man “Reze Arc” Stage Play Announced: The Stage Returns in July 2026 With Returning Cast

The Chainsaw Man Reze Arc stage play has officially been announced, with performances scheduled in Japan from July to August 2026. Titled “Chainsaw Man The Stage Reze Arc”, the production will feature the return of four main cast members from the previous stage adaptation, reprising their roles as Denji, Aki, Power, and Makima.

The stage adaptation is based on the hit manga Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto. The first stage production was performed in Tokyo and Kyoto from September to October 2023, earning strong acclaim for its bold theatrical expression and intense action that translated the manga’s distinctive world onto the stage.

As the second installment of the stage series, the Reze Arc will once again star Naotake Tsuchiya as Denji, Mizuki Umetsu as Aki, Mahiru Koda as Power, and Aya Hirano as Makima. The creative team also returns, with Fumiya Matsuzaki handling script and direction, Shunsuke Wada composing the music, and HIDALI in charge of choreography.

The Reze Arc is known as one of the most emotionally charged and dramatic storylines in Chainsaw Man, depicting the bittersweet yet violent relationship between Denji and Reze. In September this year, the theatrical anime film Chainsaw Man Reze Arc was released and became a massive hit, drawing more than six million moviegoers in Japan.

Having captivated fans through both the original manga and the animated feature film, the Reze Arc now returns in stage form. The production promises a fusion of intense emotional expression and dynamic action unique to live theater, offering a new perspective on this beloved storyline.

Cast Comments

■Denji: Naotake Tsuchiya
I am truly happy that we can once again bring Chainsaw Man The Stage to everyone, and that I am able to continue in this sequel. The Reze Arc has been receiving an incredible response everywhere, and just imagining how we can once again experience the excitement and theatrical expression unique to the stage makes me eager to perform as soon as possible. For Denji, this arc is filled with encounters and events that become major turning points, and I want to portray them with care while letting things go wild when needed. The entire company will work hard to deliver this production to as many people as possible, and we sincerely appreciate your support.

■Aki: Mizuki Umetsu
It has already been two years since the previous production. Being able to throw myself back into that passion again makes me tremble with excitement. When I close one eye, countless devils appear behind my eyelids, and even the shaking sensation of that massive rotating stage set comes back to me. I am shaking nonstop. Unfortunately, I could not resist and cut my hair, but I will make sure it is ready in time for opening night.

■Power: Mahiru Koda
Because it was my very first stage performance, Chainsaw Man The Stage is an especially important work to me, so I am genuinely happy to be appearing in its sequel. I am thrilled not only to spend time as Power again, but also to share that world once more with everyone watching. I hope you will look forward to our expression of
Chainsaw Man The Stage.

■Makima: Aya Hirano
Two years have passed since the original production, and now that the theatrical anime film has become a massive hit around the world, I am delighted to be able to announce this new stage production and return to this world once again. When we first performed, it was my first time appearing in a 2.5D stage play, and I was inspired by the company’s determination to create a revolution in the genre. With new characters joining in the Reze Arc, I want to lead the production as Makima while keeping the original spirit alive and creating a dynamic and creative environment. In this story, the presence of Makima within Denji’s heart is put to the test. I will observe calmly, yet move forward with an aggressive stance.
