Episode 9 Story

After being told by Chairwoman Tetsudome Toyo that he lacks the resolve needed to truly face children, Santa feels shaken. Although he manages to become the Black Santa with Tetsudome’s support, Sanda begins to wonder whether this newfound strength is truly the kind of “strong adult” he once aspired to be.

Later, Sanda reunites with Namatame, and as he listens to her speak about her past, he reaffirms his conviction to never fight children and to endure the killing intent directed at him, no matter how severe.

Introduction

The stage is near-future Japan, facing an era of extreme population decline.

Children, regarded as the nation’s treasures, are strictly managed and protected in a fully residential academy under the control of adults. Meanwhile, Santa Claus (once a figure who gave dreams and hope to children) has been branded a dangerous threat, marked for elimination.

On December 25, as snow falls, junior high student Kazushige Sanda suddenly finds himself targeted by his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura.

She has discovered that Sanda is a descendant of Santa Claus and sought him out to grant her wish.

“Santa, please find my friend.”

Shiori’s wish is to find her missing best friend, Ichie Ono.

To protect the children, Sanda resolves to take up the mantle of Santa Claus and fight against the adults!

The original work is by Paru Itagaki, creator of BEASTARS, which won the Manga Taisho 2018 Grand Prize and swept four major manga awards.

Animation production is handled by Science SARU, the acclaimed studio behind Dandadan and Your Colors.
