Connections Sparked by Games Honeymooners Among Participants How Pokémon GO Real World Events Bring People Together

The large scale real world event Pokémon GO Wild Area Nagasaki welcomed at least thirty thousand trainers from around the world over its three day run from November 7 to November 9. Among the visitors was an international couple from Canada who began dating after meeting through Pokémon GO and eventually married. They traveled to Japan for their honeymoon to attend this event.

The Canadian couple, Les and Sandra, held their wedding at Pokémon GO Fest 2025 New Jersey in June.

For their honeymoon, they chose to visit Pokémon GO Wild Area Nagasaki. In addition to enjoying the gameplay, they said they were deeply moved by the city’s scenery, culture, and hospitality. We have fallen in love with Nagasaki. It is such a beautiful place they commented.

They added that the breathtaking landscapes of Nagasaki and the connections formed through Pokémon GO had made the trip special. On the first day, they immediately traded Pokémon with Japanese trainers. Although neither spoke each other’s language, they were still able to communicate through the game, and their circle of friends continued to grow.

This real world event brought together trainers from across the globe to explore Nagasaki alongside Pokémon while enjoying local activities.
