The visual of Jako Amano, leader of the delinquent girl group Ojyogumi, has been revealed for the completely new High School! Kimengumi TV anime set to air in January 2026. This marks the series’ first new animation in 39 years. Alongside the visual, five additional cast members have been announced.

Known for her long black hair and her habit of holding a cocoa cigarette in her mouth, Jako appears in the new illustration striking a dignified pose befitting the leader of a sukeban group.

The newly announced cast includes M A O as Jako Amano, Kaoru Sakura as Maki Hidari, Sachiko Okada as Ikue Sandanbara, Marie Oi as Desuko Honba, and Minami Shindo as Kayo Oba.

M・A・O commented, “As her name suggests, Jako has a mischievous streak. Beneath her powerful and cool attitude, she occasionally shows glimpses of cuteness and playful charm. She is truly a captivating character. I hope viewers look forward to seeing how she becomes involved in the chaotic and humorous antics of the Kimengumi members. Thank you for your support.”

Reflecting on her own school days, she added, “If I could go back to my student years, I would want to study much more seriously. English, classical literature, history, art… I wish I could relearn the basics of all the subjects I want to explore more deeply in my life.”
