Kuromi’s Major Debut Live in Kabukicho: “I Hope My Songs Can Give You Strength”

Sanrio’s beloved character Kuromi made her official debut as a music artist under the name KUROMI, holding her first-ever live concert on October 22 at the Cinecity Square in Kabukicho, Shinjuku, Tokyo. The free live event marked both her major debut day and the release of her first EP, KUROMI IN MY HEAD, drawing a crowd of approximately 700 fans known as KUROMIES.

Opening with “KUROMI♡Profile,” a track produced by Satomi Shigemori, KUROMI energized the audience with a fusion of rap and pop. She followed with her freshly released single “Dolce Vita,” a dynamic mix of electropop and rap that further elevated the venue’s excitement.

The performance continued with “Tuning Dancer” by Kairiki Bear, a pop track carrying an empowering lyrical message. For the fourth number, KUROMI performed “Hapi Hallo!!,” an upbeat Halloween song written by Shuichi Mabe, featuring playful lines like “Trick or trick or treat” and “Dress up my way, not like anyone else.”

Before the final song, KUROMI grinned and told her fans:

“If my songs can give you a little push or bring you luck, that’d make me super happy. ’Cause you guys are already awesome just the way you are!”

She wrapped up her one-hour debut live with “OHIRUNE DAY DREAM,” leaving the crowd in high spirits. Even after the show ended, the square buzzed with applause and excitement for KUROMI’s energetic performance.
