Based on the popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2014 to 2024, My Hero Academia is set in a world where individuals possess unique supernatural abilities known as Quirks. The story follows Izuku Midoriya (Deku), a boy aspiring to become a hero who protects society from villains who abuse their Quirks. He grows alongside his classmates at U.A. High School, a prestigious institution dedicated to hero training. The anime, which began airing in 2016, has reached its eighth season with this FINAL SEASON.

In Season 7, Katsuki Bakugo was defeated by the villain Tomura Shigaraki, but made a long-awaited comeback at the end of Episode 2 of the FINAL SEASON. The newly revealed key visual, “Bakugo vs. All For One,” teases the upcoming Episode 4, titled “Quirk!! Explosion!!,” airing on October 25. The illustration shows Bakugo flying toward All For One, who looks enraged, capturing the tension and intensity of their confrontation and hinting at a fierce battle to come.

The opening animation was also updated starting October 18 to reflect Bakugo’s return, now labeled as Type-2. Bakugo appears beside Deku and All Might in the opening sequence’s first moments, followed by dynamic battle scenes during the chorus. The already popular opening has been upgraded to reflect the heightened drama of the season.

In addition, a special live YouTube program titled “Bakugo TV 2025”, hosted by Bakugo’s voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto, will stream on October 25. The show, which last aired in October 2019 and December 2020, returns after five years to celebrate Bakugo’s comeback. Okamoto, who has voiced Bakugo since the anime’s first season in 2016, will deliver an explosive talk show in two parts: Part 1 airing from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m (JST)., and Part 2 starting at 6:00 p.m(JST). on the official TOHO animation YouTube channel.
