Introduction

DIGIMON BEATBREAK Key Visual (C) Akiyoshi Hongo, Toei Animation
The new lead character is Tomoro Tenma, a 15-year-old first-year high school student. His partner Digimon is Gekkomon, a reptile-type, Data attribute Digimon in its Rookie stage. This marks the first new Digimon TV anime since Digimon Ghost Game (2021–23), returning after two years.
The story is set in a world where human thoughts and emotions create "e-Pulse," which serves as the energy source for AI support devices called "SapotaMa." While this system drives technological progress, terrifying creatures emerge: Digimon, lifeforms that evolve by consuming e-Pulse. Tomoro’s fateful encounter with Gekkomon, who suddenly appears from his SapotaMa, pulls him into extraordinary events that will shape the future of both humans and Digimon.
Since its debut as a handheld game in 1997 and subsequent TV anime adaptation in 1999, the Digital Monster series has introduced over 1,000 Digimon who continuously evolve within the Digital World. Its stories, centred on themes of friendship and growth, have resonated across generations. Beginning with the 1999 anime Digimon Adventure, the franchise has since expanded to nine TV series and 11 films.
