"Chainsaw Man" Movie Announced: Reze Arc Visual & PV Released
A movie sequel to the TV anime "Chainsaw Man," titled "Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc," has been confirmed. The new character "Reze" will be voiced by Reina Ueda. A teaser visual and a teaser PV featuring Reze and flowers have also been released.
This announcement was made today during a stage event at "Jump Festa 2024" held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. The news of the movie's production was met with surprise and excitement from the audience.
"Chainsaw Man" follows the story of Denji, a boy living with the Chainsaw Devil, Pochita. Denji works as a Devil Hunter to pay off the debt left by his parents, living a miserable life. After making a contract with Pochita, he is resurrected as "Chainsaw Man," a dark hero with the heart of a devil, hunting down evil demons.
The original manga, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" since December 2018, has surpassed 26 million copies in circulation. Its sudden plot twists and shocking developments have made it a popular work, ranking first in the "This Manga is Amazing! 2021" (Men's Edition).
The first part, "Public Safety Arc," concluded in the December 14, 2020 issue of the magazine. The second part began serialization in "Shonen Jump+" in July 2022. The TV anime aired from October to December 2022, and the series has also been adapted into a stage play.
