About the Makibao Franchise
Based on Tsunomaru’s manga Midori no Makibao (serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1994 to 1998), the story follows a small, donkey-like racehorse named Makibao who overcomes challenges to become a champion known as the “White Miracle.” The series gained popularity for its mix of comedy and sports drama and inspired sequels Taiyo no Makibao and Taiyo no Makibao W.
The new web anime marks the 30th anniversary of the manga’s serialization and is directed by FROGMAN, known for Secret Society Eagle Talon.
