Oshi no Ko Season 3 to Air in January 2026, New Cast Members Revealed

The TV anime Oshi no Ko Season 3 is set to premiere in January 2026. Alongside the broadcast announcement, new cast members were revealed: Yuto Takenaka will play Shun Yoshizumi, and Yoji Ueda will play Tetsu Urushibara.

The new characters are part of the online variety show "Dig Deep☆One Chance!, where Aqua makes an appearance. Takenaka plays assistant director Shun Yoshizumi, while Ueda plays director Tetsu Urushibara. Both actors also shared their comments on joining the series.

In addition, the first-ever Oshi no Ko virtual live concert, “B-Komachi Live Tour 2026 - Beyond the Brilliance VirtualLive -,” has been announced. The event’s visual and teaser PV have been released, featuring a glimpse of B-Komachi’s 3D live performance.

Oshi no Ko tells a story that looks at the good and bad parts of the entertainment industry. The main character, Goro, a gynecologist, meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, but dies in an unexpected way. He then comes back as Aqua, Ai's child, and starts following the same path in the entertainment world.

The manga was serialized in Weekly Young Jump from April 2020 to November 2024, and has been printed more than 20 million times. It won first place in the comic category of the Next Manga Awards 2021. The first season was shown from April to June 2023. It was popular and received a lot of attention. This was because of YOASOBI's hit opening theme, "Idol." Season 2 aired from July to October 2024, and since then, the series has expanded into live-action drama and film adaptations. The story in Season 3 will continue in January 2026.
