Sonic and Hatsune Miku Team Up Again: “Jet Black” by Yunosuke Debuts in Project ONSOKU
SEGA has released the third track from Project ONSOKU, a special collaboration between Sonic the Hedgehog and Hatsune Miku. The newly written song, titled “Jet Black”, is composed and produced by Yunosuke and features a duet between Hatsune Miku and Shadow. The track was released on September 8, 2025, along with an illustrated cover by artist FAMY.

“Jet Black” by Yunosuke Becomes Third Song in Project ONSOKU
SEGA announced the release of “Jet Black”, the third installment in Project ONSOKU, on September 8, 2025. The song was written and produced by Yunosuke, known for his Vocaloid tracks and pop sensibility. Featuring Hatsune Miku and Shadow the Hedgehog, “Jet Black” continues the project’s theme of music-driven crossovers between iconic characters.
An official music video was also released and is available on YouTube. The release was accompanied by a newly drawn collaboration visual by illustrator FAMY.

Yunosuke Reflects on Sonic Influence and Shadow Collaboration
Yunosuke commented on his deep connection to the Sonic franchise, recalling playing the games as a child and especially admiring the character Shadow. He also cited the Sonic Mania soundtrack as one of his biggest musical influences in recent years.
In his message, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute music to a franchise that shaped his early experiences, noting that he was honored to blend his personal style with the world of Sonic. He described “Jet Black” as a passionate composition he hopes listeners will enjoy.
Weekly Song Releases Continue Ahead of Game Launch
Project ONSOKU features five original songs created by five artists, with a new song released each week. Previous releases include “Saiai Jinsei Runner” by Kairiki Bear and “We Are PikoPiko Hammers!!!” by cosMo@BousouP.
The fourth and fifth tracks, “Treasure Garden” by Ponchi♪ and “Denkou Sessaka” by Camellia, are scheduled for release on September 15 and 22, respectively.
All tracks will be included in the upcoming game Sonic Racing Crossworlds, where they will be available as in-race background music. The game is set for release on September 25, 2025, across major platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Hatsune Miku Joins the Race as Playable DLC Character
In addition to the music tracks, Hatsune Miku will appear as a playable character in Sonic Racing Crossworlds through a free downloadable update. Her custom race machine, named Diva Machina, will also be included.
The game will feature 23 racers at launch, with additional crossover characters including Joker from Persona 5 Royal, Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza, Minecraft characters, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Players can equip over 70 gadgets to customize their racing strategies.
