About Assassination Classroom

The series follows the bizarre creature “Koro-sensei”, who possesses Mach 20 speed and super strength, becomes the homeroom teacher of Kunugigaoka Junior High’s failing Class 3-E, and declares he will destroy Earth unless his students can assassinate him before graduation.

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (2012–2016), the manga has over 27 million copies in circulation. The TV anime ran in 2015 (Season 1) and 2016 (Season 2), and in 2015 a live-action film starring Ryosuke Yamada was released.

Comments from the crew

Director Masaki Kitamura’s Comment
“I’m truly happy to bring this classroom back to everyone who has loved Assassination Classroom for so long. While carrying on the atmosphere cherished by Director Kishi, I’ve added cinematic intensity and new elements. I hope that when the credits roll, you’ll think, ‘Yes, I still love Assassination Classroom.’”

Screenwriter Makoto Uezu’s Comment
“When I was still a promising new scriptwriter, I was honored—and nervous—to be given the role of series composition for a Shonen Jump title. We succeeded, but naturally there were things I wanted to do that restrictions prevented. Now, 10 years later, we’re doing it all! This is the complete Assassination Classroom. Rest assuredit’s a brand-new work.”

Character Designer Aya Hinoue’s Comment
“As a fan myself, I never thought I’d see those stories I wished were animated finally come to life after 10 years. Whether you just discovered Assassination Classroom or watched it a decade ago, think of this movie as a class reunion come to the theater and meet Koro-sensei and Class 3-E again.”
