Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game Part 1, the third season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series, is set to premiere in January 2026. Alongside the announcement, new scene cuts and a teaser PV were released, showcasing the intense battle between Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu. The sequel follows the events of the Shibuya Incident, introducing a deadly new arc orchestrated by the mysterious sorcerer Noritoshi Kamo.

Yuji vs. Yuta! Intense Battle Previewed in New Teaser

The newly released teaser PV opens with Yuji Itadori sitting on a staircase, saying, “I can't stay with everyone anymore.” This scene sets the tone for the emotional aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. Soon after, Yuta Okkotsu, a special-grade sorcerer and protagonist of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, appears before Yuji. The teaser previews the highly anticipated clash between the two, both trained under the same mentor.

Culling Game Arc Brings Together Key Characters

Culling Game, the continuation of Season 2, portrays a brutal conflict between sorcerers granted cursed powers, orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo. The teaser also features characters such as Megumi Fushiguro, Choso, Maki Zenin, and Yuki Tsukumo, hinting at the beginning of a large-scale confrontation in this new arc.

Theatrical Release Before TV Premiere

A special theatrical project, Jujutsu Kaisen the Movie: The movie, Shibuya Incident Special Edition × Culling Game Advance Screening, will be shown in Japanese theaters on November 7. For the first time, the Shibuya Incident will be shown in a special version on the big screen. Also, Episodes 1 and 2 of Season 3 will be shown for the first time outside of the TV broadcast. The film will also be shown in other countries.

New Key Visual by MAPPA

A new image has also been released by the animation studio MAPPA. It shows Yuji clenching his fist with a determined expression against the backdrop of a devastated Shibuya crater, alongside Yuta holding his sword with his back turned. The image strongly suggests what will happen in the story, which is the big fight between Yuji and Yuta, who are both students of the same teacher.

About Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen is a dark fantasy that follows high school student Yuji Itadori as he enters the world of curses after the seal of a powerful Cursed Object is broken. The original manga, which was published in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024, has been printed more than 100 million times.

The first TV season was shown from October 2020 to March 2021. In December 2021, the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was a global hit, earning 26.5 billion yen worldwide. The second season aired from July to December 2023.
