Voice actor Takaya Hashi (JP:土師 孝也) passed away on August 27 due to a heart attack. He was 72 years old. The announcement was made on August 28 by Apte Pro, where he served as company president.

On the official website, the company released a statement titled “[Obituary] Takaya Hashi,” which read:

“Our company president, Takaya Hashi (legal name: Takaya Kato), passed away suddenly from a heart attack on the morning of August 27, 2025, at the age of 72.”

Born on September 8 in Tokyo, Hashi’s prolific career spanned anime, film dubbing, and narration. He was widely recognized for his roles as Professor Snape in the Japanese dub of Harry Potter, Toki in Fist of the North Star, Kakuzu in NARUTO, James Black in Detective Conan, Donovan Desmond in SPY×FAMILY, King Vern in Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, and Gazel in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, among many others.
