You and Idol Pretty Cure Episode 29 Story & Preview Stills Released: Cure Kiss Declares “We’re Not Friends”
Episode 29 of You and Idol Pretty Cure (Kimi to Idol Prett Cure, キミとアイドルプリキュア♪), the 22nd installment in the Pretty Cure anime series, has released its story preview and early scene stills. This Episode will air on Sunday, August 24, at 8:30 AM on Japanese TV, followed by international streaming on various platforms.
Episode 29 Story
In episode 29, airing on the 24th, the Idol Pretty Cure team and Zukyoon Kiss appear at a talk show hosted at Pretty Holic. When a young girl in the audience asks, “Are Idol Pretty Cure and Zukyoon Kiss close friends?”, Cure Idol (voiced by Misato Matsuoka) and the others answer, “Of course we are!” Cure Zukyoon (voiced by Yoshino Nanjo) also says, “We’re all friends.” However, Cure Kiss (voiced by Miharu Hanai) refuses to accept this, and after the show ends, she takes Cure Zukyoon with her, leaving behind the words: “We’re not friends.”
Back at Café Glitter, Uta sings to Meroron in the loft, asking, “Let’s be friends,” while Purirun encourages, “Everyone can be friends.” But Meroron bursts out, “You’re so stubborn!” and flies out the window.
Later, in Uta’s room, the “Purirun Stubbornness Meeting” begins. The girls recall when they first met Meroron, and Purirun decides to try talking to Meroron again. Meanwhile, Nana (voiced by Minami Takahashi) heads to the library, where Meroron is often seen visiting.

The theme of You and Idol Pretty Cure revolves around idols. With the belief that "Because you're here, I can shine and become stronger!", the Pretty Cure idols sing, dance, and engage with fans, using their performances to restore Kirakira to those who have lost it.
The story follows Uta Sakura, a second-year middle school student who loves to sing. One day, she meets Purirun, a fairy searching for the Idol Pretty Cure, the legendary savior of Kirakiland. Kirakiland has been plunged into darkness by Darkine, the leader of the Chokkiri Gang.
As the Chokkiri Gang begins stealing the Kirakira from townspeople, a desperate Uta declares, "I want to bring back the Kirakkiranran feeling! With my song!" Her determination resonates, and she transforms into the legendary Cure Idol.
