"SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT" Anime Announced with Full 2D Animation and Returning Voice Cast

A 2D anime adaptation of the popular game SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE, titled SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT, has been announced. Produced entirely with hand-drawn animation, the project is handled by Qzil.la Inc., with production by KADOKAWA Corporation and Arch Inc. The main cast—Daisuke Namikawa, Miyuki Satō, and Kenjirō Tsuda—will reprise their roles from the game. A teaser visual and preview cuts have also been released.

"SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT" to Be Fully Hand-Drawn 2D Anime

The anime SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT will be created using full hand-drawn 2D animation. The project aims to depict the emotional lives of its characters, intense sword combat scenes, and a world where the bloody Sengoku period meets traditional Japanese beauty. The animation is being produced by Qzil.la Inc.

Main Staff and Production Details Revealed

Kenichi Kutsuna will direct the anime, with Takuya Satō handling the script. Character designs are provided by Takahiro Kishida, known for his work on Haikyuu!!. The production and planning are led by KADOKAWA Corporation and Arch Inc.

Voice Cast Returns from Original Game

Daisuke Namikawa will reprise his role as Wolf, Miyuki Satō as Kuro, and Kenjirō Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina. These roles are carried over directly from SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE. A teaser visual illustrated by Takahiro Kishida and several preview scene cuts have been released.
