The long-anticipated anime adaptation of Daemons of the Shadow Realm (JP: 黄泉のツガイ, Yomi no Tsugai) by Hiromu Arakawa has been officially announced. Alongside this exciting news, the production team has revealed a teaser visual, a special announcement video, and comments from Arakawa herself.

This TV anime project reunites the powerhouse trio—Square Enix, Aniplex, and BONES—that brought us the Fullmetal Alchemist series from 2003 to 2011. The announcement has already drawn significant attention due to this stellar production lineup.

The teaser visual features the main character Yuru, standing defiantly in a desolate landscape. Armed with a bow and backed by two imposing stone statues, he glares ahead, hinting at an impending and intense battle. The key tagline reads: “Defy your fate.”

The announcement video offers a glimpse into the eerie and mysterious world of Daemons of the Shadow Realm, with numerous Tsugai creatures writhing in the shadows. The final cut of Yuru’s expression teases the start of an epic and emotional story.
