Marun: Turning Complexes into “Charm” with Jujutsu Kaisen Cosplay
Marun, an office worker and cosplayer, gained popularity through a video where she transformed into a beloved Jujutsu Kaisen character. Initially, she got into male cosplay after a childhood friend encouraged her to try.

“Since high school, I’ve studied drawing, oil painting, and sculpture, which sharpened my observational skills. Those skills help me in makeup. The hardest part was wigs—I trained myself to cut and style them naturally, even watching hairstylist tutorials on YouTube,” Marun shared.
For female-to-male transformations, eyebrows play a key role, so she carefully styles hair to ensure they remain visible. She also focuses on body shaping, using shoulder padding and height-boosting shoes, while contouring the neckline and face to add sharper definition.

Interestingly, Marun first turned to makeup because of insecurities about her own features—her round face, deep-set eyes, close-set gaze, and nose shape.
“Even if others didn’t notice, I was fixated on those flaws. Back in high school, I researched makeup thinking, ‘Maybe I’ll get surgery in college.’ But through experimenting, I realized makeup could turn my complexes into charms.”

One breakthrough was realizing that her “too-big nose,” a former insecurity, actually became a defining strength in her male cosplay looks.
“Makeup lets me become who I want depending on my mood or outfit. Life feels fuller when you let go of preconceptions. That’s why I want to share that makeup is fun and freeing.”

Souu: From Slim Woman to Muscular Giant as Street Fighter’s Zangief

Before-and-after of cosplayer Souu
Cosplayer Souu went viral with her transformation into Zangief, the burly pro wrestler from the Street Fighter series. A side-by-side post comparing her everyday look and Zangief cosplay racked up 190,000 views, with comments praising the dedication: “You can feel the effort in the bodywork!” and “The transformation is insane—the muscles shine!”

To achieve Zangief’s look, she used creative tricks:
“I wore padding under my shirt to bulk up, and crafted a mohawk on a bald cap using wool. That’s how I built this Zangief,” Souu explained.
Beyond Zangief, Souu has cosplayed as Manon and Juri from Street Fighter 6, as well as Edmond Honda—remarkably shot at home just four days before giving birth. Each post drew lively reactions from fans, proving her versatility.
