Medalist Teams Up with Grand Prix Series / Final 2025

TV Asahi has announced a collaboration between the anime Medalist and the Grand Prix Series / Final 2025. To mark the partnership, an official visual has been released featuring characters from the anime alongside figure skaters scheduled to appear in the Grand Prix Series. According to the announcement, more collaborative projects are planned going forward.
The crossover merges anime with real-world figure skating competitions, drawing attention as Medalist enters its second season and the skating world prepares for an Olympic season.
Special Stage Event on August 14 at SUMMER FES
Medalist will take part in TV Asahi’s “SUMMER FES” event held at Roppongi Hills. On August 14, a one-day-only special stage will feature voice actors Natsumi Haruse (Inori Yuitsuka) and Takeo Ōtsuka (Tsukasa Akeuraji).
Also appearing are professional figure skater Akiko Suzuki, who continues to choreograph for the anime's second season and is known for her commentary work, and Shuzo Matsuoka, the main caster for Grand Prix Series / Final broadcasts. The event aims to showcase the full appeal of figure skating through the anime-sports collaboration.
About Medalist and Its Rising Popularity
Medalist is a manga series by Tsurumaikada, serialized in Afternoon since 2020. The story follows Inori Yuitsuka, a young skater with remarkable potential, and Tsukasa Akeuraji, a coach who guides her toward becoming a world-class athlete. The manga focuses on both their personal growth and shared journey toward achieving medalist status.
The series has won multiple awards, including first place in the Comics Division of the Next Manga Award 2022, the General Category of the 68th Shogakukan Manga Award, and the Best Actress Character Award at the Magademy Award 2022.
The first season of the anime aired from January to March. Its opening theme song “BOW AND ARROW” by Kenshi Yonezu gained widespread attention through a music video featuring Olympic gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu, which surpassed 10 million views. The second season is set to begin airing in January 2026.
