Shiki Theatre Company Cancels Today's Performance of Anne of Green Gables in Shizuoka Prefecture Due to Tsunami Warning—"At the Request of Shizuoka City"

Shiki Theatre Company announced on its official website on the 30th that today's scheduled performance of Anne of Green Gables at Shimizu Cultural Hall Marinart in Shizuoka Prefecture has been canceled.

In the announcement titled “Notice of Cancellation: Anne of Green Gables Shimizu Performance on Wednesday, July 30,” they stated: “We regret to inform you that today's Anne of Green Gables performance in Shimizu (scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at Shimizu Cultural Hall Marinart in Shizuoka Prefecture) has been canceled following a request from the city of Shizuoka due to a tsunami warning issued for coastal areas of the prefecture.” They added, “Information regarding performances from tomorrow, Thursday, July 31 onward will be announced at a later time.”

Regarding ticket refunds, the announcement explained, “We will contact customers with reservations separately.” The company also apologized, saying, “We sincerely apologize to those who were looking forward to the performance.”

Additionally, they noted, “All other Shiki Theatre Company performances scheduled for today, July 30, will proceed as planned. We kindly ask for your understanding.”
