The Apothecary Diaries: Tales from the Rear Palace is a training simulation game based on the TV anime The Apothecary Diaries. In this game, players raise the protagonist, Maomao, and tackle various requests and incidents that occur within the imperial court and the red-light district.

The game can be played via web browser, requiring no installation and accessible from smartphones, tablets, and PCs alike. Players can deepen their bonds with characters like Jinshi and Consort Gyokuyou—featured in newly drawn illustrations—while immersing themselves in the world of the series.

Players will train Maomao and promote her through various missions, advancing her rank. A key appeal of the game lies in its simulation elements, where players strengthen their bonds with allies and solve numerous cases brought in from the palace and the red-light district. Additionally, players can collect and cultivate medicinal herbs and cooperate with others to successfully create concoctions through teamwork.
