"Kinnikuman" is a martial arts manga based on professional wrestling, featuring the superhuman "Kinnikuman" Suguru Kinniku as the protagonist, who fights formidable opponents in the ring alongside his fellow Justice Chojin. The story portrays Kinnikuman, a clumsy and foolish superhuman from the Planet Kinniku, as he grows into the strongest fighter in the superhuman world through hard work, friendship, and victory. The manga, created by the duo Yudetamago (writer Takashi Shimada and artist Yoshinori Nakai), debuted in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from May 1979 to May 1987. Subsequently, the series "Kinnikuman II-Sei," featuring Kinnikuman's son Mantaro Kinniku, was serialized in "Weekly Playboy" from 1998. In 2011, the original "Kinnikuman" series resumed serialization after 24 years, and the cumulative circulation of the comic series has exceeded 77 million copies.

The TV anime originally aired from April 1983 to October 1986 and again from October 1991 to September 1992, achieving an average viewership rating of 20%. The franchise also produced seven films and sold 200 million Kinkeshi (Kinnikuman erasers), becoming a major phenomenon.

This new anime marks the first TV anime since the third season of "Kinnikuman II-Sei" in 2006, after an 18-year hiatus. The animation production will be handled by Production I.G. The Perfect Origin Arc continues from the previously aired Kinnikuman Throne Arc and is one of the most popular episodes in the original manga. Mamoru Miyano will voice Kinnikuman, and Akira Kamiya will voice Kinnikuman's father, Mayumi Kinniku, and Prince Kamehame.
