The original animated film GROTESQQQUE, directed by renowned animator Atsushi Nishigori and produced by animation studio CloverWorks, is set for a theatrical release in 2026. A new teaser has been unveiled, revealing that GROTESQQQUE will consist of three uniquely styled stories: Eliians, Yoroshiku★Shojo (JP: 夜露死苦★少女), and Nocturne: On This Grotesque Night.

Produced by CloverWorks—known for hit titles such as WIND BREAKER, My Dress-Up Darling, and SPY x FAMILY—the film promises a diverse and visually rich experience. Director Atsushi Nishigori, acclaimed for works like THE IDOLM@STER and DARLING in the FRANXX, brings his signature touch to this new project. His recent work as chief animation director and character designer on EVANGELION:3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time further raised expectations for this film. Known for his skill in drawing beautiful, expressive female characters, Nishigori is set to explore distinct tonal and visual styles across the film's three segments.

The newly released footage begins with Eliians, a story bursting with pop-culture flair. A vibrant girl and an alien-like creature set the tone for a thrilling and whimsical adventure. Next is Yoroshiku★Shojo, set in a neon-lit cityscape where stunning girls battle under dazzling lights. The rapid pace and fluid action scenes evoke a strong sense of motion and intensity.
