The 12th and final episode of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX, titled “That's Why I...”, is set to air on Tuesday, June 25 at 24:29 JST. As anticipation builds, a preview and episode stills have been released. (Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers up to episode 11.)

The episode 11 preview shows MACHU’s GQuuuuuuX finally confronting Nyaan’s Giffred inside Yomagn'tho.

Even though both MACHU (Amate Yuzuriha) and Nyaan want to see Shuji Ito again, they are forced to fight due to their circumstances. Will this be a story of emotional misalignment between the two despite their shared longing?

While Nyaan already knows MACHU is piloting the GQuuuuuuX, as of episode 10, it seems MACHU has yet to realize that the Giffred pilot is Nyaan. Will MACHU go into battle with that knowledge, or will they end up hurting each other in ignorance?

There are many mysteries surrounding the upcoming episode: the meaning behind the title “Alphacide,” the unfamiliar new form of the GQuuuuuuX, and what became of Shuji, who briefly appears at the end of the trailer.

In Episode 11, the secrets of Shuji Ito and the true objective of Char Aznable were finally revealedcharacters-list.

As GQuuuuuuX built intensity with each episode, it now approaches its climactic finale.

The title of Episode 12, “That's Why I...,” has drawn attention on social media for being an homage to the autobiography of director Yoshiyuki Tomino.
In the teaser footage, we clearly see a white Gundam that long-time fans will instantly recognize as the RX-78-2 Gundam, seemingly arriving from “the other side of the world” as hinted at the end of Episode 11.

Is Shuji the one piloting that Gundam? Or could it be the original pilot everyone knows so well?

Shuji claims to have crossed over to this world to end it. Meanwhile, Char Aznable, who had been secretly plotting to erase Sharon’s Rose, is confronted by Amate Yuzuriha (Machu), who tries to stop himcharacters-list. And what role will Nyaan play in this final act?

There’s even a fleeting shot that suggests Yomagn'tho is still operational. With each character driven by completely different motives, what kind of conclusion awaits?

About Gundam GQuuuuuuX

Set in a space colony, the series follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living a peaceful life until she meets Nyaan, a girl displaced by war. This encounter thrusts Amate into the underground world of Clumbattles, illegal mobile suit duels.

Taking on the entry name “Machu,” Amate pilots the GQuuuuuuX mobile suit and soon finds herself in relentless combat. As the story unfolds, she crosses paths with a mysterious Gundam—pursued by both the Space Forces and the police—and its enigmatic pilot, Shuji Ito, signaling the dawn of a new era.

This latest Gundam installment is a collaborative project between Studio Khara (known for the Evangelion series) and Sunrise (the studio behind all previous Gundam works). Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for directing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time, helms the project.

The series is written by Yoji Enokido, with mechanical designs by Ikuto Yamashita. The voice cast includes:
