The advance screening event for the TV anime Grand Blue Season 2, set to premiere on July 7 on TOKYO MX and other networks (Tuesdays at 12:30 a.m.), was held in Tokyo on the 14th. The voice cast — Yuma Uchida, Ryohei Kimura, Hiroki Yasumoto, Katsuyuki Konishi, Chika Anzai, Maaya Uchida, Toa Yukinari, and Kana Asumi — took to the stage cheerfully with beer mugs in hand.

At one point, the screen behind them unexpectedly switched to a newly revealed visual from the second season — featuring the cast in their signature “naked” state — triggering a wave of laughter from both the cast and the audience. Even Asumi jokingly remarked, “It’s like the staff were drinking too!”

Katsuyuki Konishi had already finished half of his beer before the initial toast and found his mug mysteriously refilled during the talk, proceeding casually to his second round. The voice cast, clearly enjoying themselves, shared behind-the-scenes anecdotes — such as how the recording studio for this chaotic series, known for its “freedom” and fast-paced sessions, had an astounding amount of alcohol stocked in the lobby. They also revealed that the cast has a LINE group chat.

Toward the end, Yuma Uchida was nudged by Yasumoto and others to give the closing remarks on behalf of the group: “It’s the consensus of the club — you’re up.” With just eight minutes remaining before the premiere of Episode 1, Uchida was jokingly told to "fill the time." Flustered, he opened with, “Lovely weather today, isn’t it?” — a classic awkward opener for meeting someone new. Yasumoto quickly shot back, “It was raining today!”
