Q: What were your impressions when you first read about the 'Shibuya Incident' in the original manga or script?

Uchida: "I found it to be an episode filled with intense developments. The battles involve clashes between powerful characters, massive in scale and quick-paced... I was excited about how these would be portrayed on screen."

Q: What do you think are the highlights of the 'Shibuya Incident' in the anime?

Uchida: "In the second season, I appreciated how the original content is supplemented and expanded. Even in the dubbing phase, action scenes were significantly elaborated, making me look forward to the final animation."

"Because movements are rapid and fluid, yet carry a weighty atmosphere, performing certain scenes felt challenging. For instance, ad-libbing breaths during battles became a matter of quick reflexes due to the immense speed. I hope the audience will enjoy the increased intensity and power in the anime."

Q: Can you share your thoughts on the 'Kaigyoku: Gyokusetsu' arc that has already been broadcast?

Uchida: "As a backstory for Satoru Gojo, this arc is crucial for understanding his character. 'Kaigyoku: Gyokusetsu' portrays Gojo as arrogant, a reflection of his awareness of his own unmatched strength, which results in a certain detachment from understanding others' hearts."

"However, after his conversation with Suguru Geto, and his remark, 'But being strong on my own isn't enough. I can only save those who are prepared to be saved by others,' it seemed to me that he began to contemplate his role as a sorcerer and how he should interact with others. This past is vital for the Gojo we know today, making it an exceptionally important arc."

Q: As the voice actor for Megumi Fushiguro, your character's father, Jin Fushiguro, also made an appearance.

Uchida: "He's incredibly strong, and that strength was well captured in the anime. Takehito Koyasu, who voiced him, brought an intense vocal presence (laughs). Despite Mr. Koyasu being a very approachable and kind person, his character's presence was astounding."

Q: Throughout the "Jujutsu Kaisen" series, who is your favorite character?

Uchida: "I’d like to say 'Dad'... but, honestly, it's Nanamin (Kento Nanami). He has such a significant presence in the 'Shibuya Incident,' almost like a main character, and he’s incredibly cool. Reading the manga, I knew certain scenes would be spectacular, so I'm eagerly awaiting their adaptation into the anime."

Q: What do you find most appealing about "Jujutsu Kaisen"?

Uchida: "The charm lies in the characters, the depiction of battles, and a storyline that invites speculation. There are many memorable characters, each with a distinct personality. Their individuality shines in their battles, making the intense battle scenes a highlight. Moreover, setting the story in real places like Shibuya and Sendai adds a layer of immersion, making the series' world feel more tangible."

Q: Lastly, could you give a message to the viewers?

Uchida: "With the commencement of the 'Shibuya Incident,' it's been over two years since the 1st-year students had their storyline recorded for the TV series. I'm grateful and happy that the anime continues, especially as the manga is also reaching its climax. We're doing our best to make the anime version of "Jujutsu Kaisen" enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for your continued support."
