The second season of the TV anime “The Apothecary Diaries” is scheduled to air its final episode on July 4. Alongside this announcement, a full-length animated music video (MV) using scenes from the anime and featuring the opening theme “Kusushiki” by Mrs. GREEN APPLE has been released on the TOHO animation YouTube channel.

“Kusushiki,” the opening theme song created by Mrs. GREEN APPLE for the anime, continues to rank high on various music streaming charts, even nine weeks after its release. Its popularity mirrors the momentum of the anime itself. The newly released full-length animated MV combines the song with scenes from the anime. Upon the song’s initial release, vocalist Motoki Ohmori commented that it was created with the theme of “a love that transcends this life and remains unchanged in the next.”

The MV not only highlights the relationship between Maomao, Jinshi, and the key character Shisui, but also reflects various forms of “love” depicted throughout the series. As the second cour of season two enters its climax, the visuals grow even more emotionally resonant. With its fast-paced rhythm and impactful visuals, the MV invites viewers to pay close attention to the meaning behind the lyrics.
