Serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since May 2024, Kaijin Fugeki is a dark fantasy tale born from the vivid imagination and artistry of Oh!great. The story revolves around a force called “Yoru” (“Night”)—a supernatural calamity once feared as a natural disaster. To stand against its wrath and to borrow the strength of the gods, young warriors perform sacred dances. Their purpose: to pacify Yoru's fury and save the world.

The story follows a rural Japanese boy named Jin, who meets a former British soldier named Gao, exiled from his homeland due to Yoru. The two spend their youth with friends in a peaceful, nature-rich town—until the night returns once more to disrupt their lives.
Volumes 1 and 2 quickly went into reprint due to high demand, with the promotional team noting, “The series trended on X within hours of its debut, and the first volume received an immediate reprint. It’s the best-selling new series in Weekly Shonen Magazine over the past year!” (Based on actual bookstore sales via Nippan POS system.)
A sales department rep added, “Volume 2 saw a fantastic launch and led to a major reprint soon after. Bookstore staff and manga connoisseurs across the country have been giving it strong word-of-mouth support. While Oh!great’s art was the initial highlight, attention is now shifting to the series’ unique and immersive worldbuilding.”
