Live-Action ONE PIECE Sets Guinness World Record at Osaka Comic Con with 897 Straw Hat Fans
The live-action adaptation of ONE PIECE on Netflix has achieved a Guinness World Record at Osaka Comic Con 2025, held at INTEX Osaka. The record-breaking feat occurred during the "Celebrity Stage" on May 4, where the largest number of people—897 in total—wore straw hats simultaneously, surpassing the previous record of 797.

Now in its third edition since its launch in 2023 as the Osaka counterpart to the Tokyo Comic Con (established in 2016), Osaka Comic Con 2025 ran for three days from May 2 to 4. The event featured appearances by international celebrities such as Sung Kang, Mads Mikkelsen, Hugh Dancy, Emily Rudd, Daniel Logan, Christina Ricci, Edward Furlong, Nicolas Cage, Bill Skarsgård, and Japan’s own Mackenyu.

On May 4, Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), and surprise guest Jacob Romero Gibson (Usopp) took the stage, thrilling fans of the live-action ONE PIECE series. The audience erupted with excitement as Gibson made his unexpected entrance.

At the event, Guinness World Records officials confirmed the new record for the “Most People Wearing Straw Hats”. The three actors joyfully received the official certificate in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
